PRESTON
Lauren Preston, also known as Preston, is a twenty-one year old artist from the Dallas-Fort worth area. Growing up listening to many different genres of rock music, she was heavily inspired by the loud driven guitars and heavy drums. She took inspiration from many different bands including Deftones, Smashing Pumpkins, and Fleshwater to create a unique mix of Grunge dreamy rock and soft passionate vocals. By adding up her different inspirations and combining multiple aspects of different genres, Preston was able to create a sound very unique to her as an artist.
Preston grew up surrounded by music, her father was a DJ and a heavy metal finatic. Music was constantly being played throughout the house which sparked her curiosity as to how it was made. She started playing piano at a young age, which then expanded to violin guitar and bass. It wasn't until the end of high school that she discovered the world of music production and audio engineering. After teaching herself how to produce she was accepted into Full Sail University's Music/Audio production program. This is where she currently attends online working on her bachelor of science in audio production.
At only seventeen, Preston released her debut single titled “healing” in 2020, and several months later she released her second single titled “pill bottle”. Shortly after releasing her second single she signed her first contract to a Record Label called Third String Records based in Dallas Texas. She is currently signed with them working on her debut EP which will include her newest single “Fever Dream” coming out April 8th 2022.
